This project was carried out according to a standardisation mandate forwarded on 13th September 1995 from the European Commission Directorate General III Industry to CEN/CENELEC/ETSI in the field of Information Technology and Telecommunications. The reference number is SOGITS N 884.
The project is informally called "Standards for Cultural Heritage Information On-line" (CHIO) and started in the beginning of 1997 and this is the Final Report of the project team.
